played by Vijay Chandrashekhar. She was then defined as “not-so- promising-type” actor. It was in 2003 that Chopra made her Bollywood debut second female lead in the The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. It is surprising to learn that the first three releases of this currently highest paid actor were major flops at the box office. She rose to fame with the release of David Dhawan’s romantic comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, which turned out to be the third-highest-grossing film of the year in India and arose as one of the biggest commercial success in the whole industry, earning up to 570 million globally. It’s the mesmerizing personality and amazing acting skills of this beautiful actress that has made grab a role in one of the leading American Thrillers, Quantico. Such is her fan following in India and abroad that audiences are now eagerly waiting for the release of her new movie, the Prakash Jha directed Jai Gangaajal. Priyanka Chopra, who absolutely left everyone awestruck with her outstanding performance in the recent release ‘Bajirao Mastani’, has got back into action in the trailer of her upcoming movie ‘Jai Gangaajal’. The actress plays the role of a courageous cop who takes on the villains with her army of policemen. Director Prakash Jha has done a praiseworthy job in the film. Being his first acting debut, he is of the opinion that this movie will bring more success to Priyanka’s career and that her international acclamation has earned her a special position in the heart of the Indian audiences, which is why he is highly optimistic about the movie performance.

Jai Gangajal

During many recent interviews, when Prakhash Jha was asked as to why he chose a female protagonist, he shared his idea about the movie. Jha said that when he decided to make a sequel of movie “Gangaajal” almost after 12 long years the only thing that he wanted was to highlight the change in relationship between the police and the common man. He believes that it has been more than ten years since the first story was put on screen with an idea that was followed at that point of time. However, he feels that the relationship between people and police then and now has drastically changed. Therefore, he felt that it was necessary to make a movie based on this transformed relationship. The story of the sequel is such that it made made him chose a female protagonist. Basically, it revolves around a system which was working very smoothly and such a police official was needed who showed least or no interest and interference in in the system. Therefore, they decide to get a lady officer, who will not give them any trouble and just do desk work; just like any other in house employee. Little did they know that things would be different as this lady officer was put there to eliminate the wrong doings of the unsocial people? No doubt, Priyanka’s part in the movie will be worth watching but Prakash Jha’s debut is the cherry on the cake in absolute terms.
