Born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the very talented and self made entrepreneur and e-commerce pioneer Jeff Bezos, had once quit his lucrative job to establish Amazon.com. Undoubtedly, his sheer interest for invention, innovation and experiments, he began his first business model while he was in school. It was named Dream Institute, which was a summer camp program for the fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. He graduated from the prestigious Princeton University with a degree in computer science and electrical engineering. He worked with several firms like Fitel, Bankers Trust, and D.E Shaw.
He had an extremely lucrative career in finance but he trusted his instincts and chose the chancier path of attaining success. Thus, he ventured into the budding world of e-commerce. It was in 1994 when he quit his and moved to Seattle with the goal of targeting the untapped prospective of the internet market by launching an online bookstore.

With no media promotion, Amazon.com sold books from corner to corner of the United States and in 45 foreign countries within 30 days merely. Resultantly, its sales reached $20,000 a week, growing faster than Jeff Bezos in just two months.
Jeff Bezos continued to expand product offerings by Amazon by starting the sale of CDs and videos in 1998, and later moved onto clothes, toys, electronics and many more, which was made possible through the major retail partnerships. While many of the dot.coms during the early ’90s went out of action, Amazon flourished with its yearly sales moving from $510,000 in 1995 to over $17 billion in 2011. Jeff Bezos bought The Washington Post for $250 million in August 2013.
During early December 2013, Jeff Bezos was in the world news, when he introduced an innovative and experimental initiative by Amazon, called as the Amazon Prime Air, which used remote-controlled machines that could perform a wide range of human tasks including providing delivery services to its customers.
Jeff Bezos is a great fan of the most imaginative and creative science fiction, Star Trek and its soon after released versions. Owing to his increased liking, he initially thought of naming Amazon similar to a line adapted from the Captain Jean in star Trek called Makeitso.com.
